Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
Casual attire is recommended. Because the Pottersburg Covered Bridge is an outdoor venue, weather conditions can vary throughout the day. We encourage guests to dress comfortably and prepare for changing elements such as sun, wind, rain, humidity, or cooler evening temperatures. Layers are always a good idea.
What is your purchase policy? Can I get a refund once purchased?
Due to the nature of this experience, all purchases are non‑refundable. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your reservation to another guest.
To transfer your ticket, please reply to your confirmation email or call our office with the new guest’s information at least 24 hours before the event.
If an event must be postponed due to circumstances beyond our control, all purchases will be honored for the rescheduled date. Guests unable to attend the new date will receive a credit equal to their original purchase amount to use toward a future Dine on a Covered Bridge event.
What is your weather policy?
Dine on a Covered Bridge is designed to take place rain or shine, and guest safety is always our top priority. Should severe weather arise, portions of the event may be modified, delayed, relocated, postponed, or canceled. Our team will communicate updates as quickly as possible.
If an event is postponed, all purchases will be honored for the rescheduled date. Guests unable to attend the new date will receive a credit for the original purchase amount.
If conditions make it unsafe or impractical to dine at the bridge, the meal will be relocated to a participating winery, brewery, or another designated backup location.
We recommend checking the forecast before arrival and dressing accordingly. Small umbrellas are welcome.
If my friends purchase tickets separately from me, will we be able to sit together?
Yes, both the trolley and meals are open seating.
May I park at the Pottersburg Bridge, if I’m mostly just interested in the dining component of the experience?
Parking at the Pottersburg Covered Bridge is not permitted. The bridge area has limited space and can present safety concerns.
All guests must park at the designated participating winery or brewery. Beginning the experience at these locations ensures safe parking, smooth transportation, and the full enjoyment of the trolley tour.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, please indicate any dietary restrictions in the comments section when making your reservation and we will attempt to accommodate your request.
Will we always ride on a trolley?
We strive to provide trolley transportation for every event. However, mechanical issues, weather conditions, safety considerations, or other unforeseen circumstances may require transportation by a coach bus, shuttle, or similar vehicle.
Are the trolleys comfortable?
Our vintage‑style trolleys feature wooden bench seating, which some guests may find firm during the ride. Air conditioning is available but may vary depending on weather conditions and the specific vehicle. Dressing comfortably for the day’s weather is recommended.
Is the event accessible?
Event transportation is not always wheelchair accessible, and the trolley is not wheelchair accessible. Some participating wineries, breweries, and bridge areas may include gravel surfaces or uneven terrain.
If you have questions about accessibility or need assistance determining whether this experience is right for you, please contact Union County Tourism before purchasing tickets.
Are the Dine on a Covered Bridge events family-friendly?
Although we enjoy showcasing the fun family-friendly options in Union County, the new Dine on a Covered Bridge Trolley Tour Series is an adult-focused event.
How long does the experience last?
The experience typically lasts approximately 2½ hours. While we aim to stay on schedule, factors such as traffic, weather, or operational delays may occasionally extend the event. We recommend allowing an additional hour in your schedule if possible.
Will there be beverages available at the bridge?
Union County Tourism does not provide beverages at the bridge. Guests are welcome to bring sealed beverages purchased from the participating winery or brewery onto the trolley to enjoy during the event.
Outside alcohol and beverages from non‑participating locations are prohibited.
